| Mates
Mates have to be agreed upon between both characters and then sent to the admins and Alphas for approval. If a mate is lost, please leave a season of mourning between the loss and finding a new mate. Unclaimed pups may also be used for breeding purposes (if no one wants your poor, sad character, but you want pups) but you must clear it with the Alphas and Admins first. You do not have to stay with your mate forever. You may either establish as a breeding pair or as season-only mates. Season-only mates may separate after the pups are grown (nine days after whelping), while mating pairs should have a fight for dominance and then alert administration that they have separated.

PUPPIES! Everyone love pups! They're cute, cuddly, and make funny noises. And you can have them! As many times as you like (well, no more than once a "year")! Please keep breeding non-graphic, whelping discreet (and in the dens), and everything limited to its proper season. We will announce when older females and experienced mothers can go into heat, and younger females/unbred females go into heat a week later. Pups are born in summer (admins regulate season) and MUST be guarded by at least one parent during RP at all times (obviously if neither parent is on, you're off the hook) for two days. Otherwise, breeding/nursing/prenant females of higher rank and unrelated males of the same or higher rank can kill/eat your puppies. Yum! Parent players also have uncontested rights to be their puppies for a full week (though if the pups attack unfriendly older wolves, you can guarantee they'll be eaten) If you find people to be your puppies, that's great. If not, they will be posted (genetics ONLY) as available characters and can be used as background characters/mule mates by anyone (as long as they ask permission to mate from the admins, mind) Try to keep genetics in mind when posting your pup's physical profiles. You get to name them, too. If you don't, they'll just be assigned a number (and anyone who takes them permanently can give them a nickname)
Litter size: Young females may have 0-7 surviving pups. Females who have had five or more litters, or are ranked delta or higher, may have larger litters (0-10) and Beta and higher may have up to 15. Why you would want this many, I do not know. Please have at least 3 pups per litter. Feel free to have any you truly don't want to exist be stillborn.
Oh, and yes, other people's (and your own) pups DO count as a food source for higher ranked wolves. Please don't eat your own pups unless they are already dead for some reason.

It's quite common in real life, so why not? Don't eat each other, though. You can eat the dead, any lower-ranked couples' puppies (as long as they aren't guarded and are less than three days old) and background wolves (as in, those who are not actually part of the pack) who are sick or injured. Don't even TRY eating anyone higher ranked though. It's just not a good idea. Hey, it's all fair game.
This rule may very well be changed by Xosis...

| Fighting
Sure, go for it. You have to get permissions to kill each other, though (and if you're getting killed, you can bet the administration isn't happy with you). Make sure you get permission and alert the opponent before going after their life. You don't have to get permissions to kill a background character. Just go for it. No god-moding, anything invalid in a fight will be struck from the record, etc. etc. Also, if you're going after position, you'll have to be verified into the position after the battle by an admin. Don't fight with the admins over anything important. They will always automatically win major battles. You can rough them up in play or practice fights, if they have given permission to be roughed up, though they do have a slight upper hand, since wolves gain rank by might (and mates, but mostly might) Please challenge before fighting, to give the opponent a chance to flee. Unless you're looking at an Omega or satellite wolf. Then you can just bite them. They can still run away, though.
Note that in-character discipline by higher ranks is NOT a challenge to fight. Disciplinary fights are always won by the discipliner (who must be a mod or admin to discipline)

| Hazing
You're an old member, and this newbie just joined the RP. Yeah, ok, you can haze them a little, until they get some rank behind them, since everyone WILL start out as a low-ranked general member. And of course, hassle the Omegas all you want. If someone is an Omega, it's for a reason. They can redeem themselves, of course, and then you can't hassle them freely unless you're very highly ranked. Omegas... you don't get to haze. Sorry. And if hazing gets too severe, it will be checked by an admin or Alpha.
